Brooks Microfinance Bank Limited evolved from Brooks Community Bank formerly called Oboetim Community bank. The community bank has been in existence since 1993 with RC No 228655 and authorized share capital of N250,000,000 divided into two hundred and fifty thousand shares of N1 each.

The shareholders fund is seven million eight hundred and seventy-seven thousand naira (N7,877,000) and will be increased further to meet the twenty million (N20,000,000) requirement by CBN. There is already an existing deposit for shares to achieve this.

The bank was formerly located in Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, and is presently located in Uyo, the present location has many small and medium business who are our target market.

There has also been a change in the shareholders and also Board of Directors of the bank. The bank has seven shareholders at present.
